Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas says his Portuguese team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned by his current ankle injury which has kept him out of first team action with Los Merengues for the last seven games. Ronaldo does not require surgery on his troublesome ankle according to the club but is still no nearer a return to first team action."Cristiano is concerned because he thought he would recover this week and could play some minutes against Alcorcon [in the Copa del Rey second leg]," Casillas told Marca."We hope now that he improves as we need to see him back with us and scoring goals again."Besides the absence of the Portugal captain, the 'keeper believes his side are in good shape going into their derby showdown with Atletico Madrid on Saturday."The team is working well, is new and we must take a little longer to integrate. It is normal for the fans to demand things, it is their right, but we must remain calm. It will be a derby with two teams in different situations. We're not complacent. We want the three points," he declared.

Reports on Wednesday suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo was in with a chance of playing for los Blancos in Saturday's Madrid derby. However, Real Madrid have announced that Ronaldo is no closer to a return to first team action and must continue treatment until further scans show that his ankle has fully healed.A statement on the club's official website read:"After examining the evolution of Cristiano Ronaldo's injury today, it was determined that there has been no clinical improvement of the bone edema in the center of his right ankle."The player cannot, therefore, begin training and must continue treatment and relief work until another examination is carried out."Ronaldo's recuperation from a sprained ankle has been complicated by the continuing presence of a bone edema on the talus bone in his right foot. He will now travel to Amsterdam in order to continue his recovery program with ankle specialist Dr. Niek van Dijk.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been impressed with Cristiano Ronaldo's start to his new career with Real Madrid and revealed that he always felt he could be the top goalscorer at the club.
The Manchester United manager had no doubts that the player he groomed to be one of the world's best would be a success after his €94 million move to the Spanish capital.
Ronaldo'searly goal against Villarreal in midweek took his tally to five and he is the joint top goalscorer along with David Villa and Barça duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Lionel Messi.
With two more in the opening Champions League game the Portuguese star has made an impressive start and his former boss admitted he always thought that would be the case.
Ferguson explained that he had placed a crafty bet with bookmakers that Ronaldo would top the scoring charts and he is confident he will be paid.
"I saw his goal on Wednesday, what a goal. He has done well to get seven goals right away," he told the Mail on Sunday.
"He's started very well. They play 38 league games, European games, Spanish Cup, so you never know."
