Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho believes no team in the world can afford Cristiano Ronaldo in light of AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has declared an interest for the Portuguese international.
Bernabeu club signed Ronaldo for a world record sum of € 94 million to Manchester United in the summer of 2009 and was rewarded with a phenomenal 73 goals in 80 appearances.
Last week, Mourinho said he would leave the club if his compatriot was sold to Milan, but has since taken a more relaxed attitude to the situation.
"I'm not saying it was impossible because of the football you never know, and [AC Milan President Silvio] Berlusconi to bid crowds. But it's true madness, because Real Madrid will not sell Cristiano Ronaldo 'The Italy coach told Sky.
The former Chelsea manager has also spoken on the official website of the Real, with emphasis on how any move involving Ronaldo would be to club president Florentino Perez.
"He [Ronaldo] is an extraordinary player and I do not think anyone can not afford to pay for what it is worth it, but Florentino Perez has the last word here.
"Only the president can not stop Real Madrid, AC Milan tries to sign Cristiano Ronaldo."
Mourinho's comments will gather Saturday's highly anticipated Clásico, the first of four meetings in Barcelona in three weeks.
